Last year, Blog Action Day was about water. Thousand of bloggers worldwide tried to raise awareness about the clean water issue.

This year, Blog Action day will be about food in general bur in particular the world famine or dying because there is no food.

The famine in Somalia has killed 30,000 children in 3 months. One in ten children under the age of five dies every eleven weeks in Somalia because of the famine.Almost half of the population is now threatened by it.




The current crisis in the Horn of Africa is the result of a tragic combination of factors that are man-made, including abnormally high food prices, lack of governance and security in Somalia, and a historic lack of investment in long-term agricultural development in the Horn. Over the past few years, we lost the political will and public support necessary to prevent the famine


How can you raise global awareness for this important issue?

1.Sign and share our petition: Take immediate action against the famine by signing the one’s organisation petition and asking world leaders to ensure people are hungry no more and to take action. Don’t forget to share the petition with family and friends and use the hashtag #BAD11.



2.Share “The F Word” PSA video: Share the new provocative PSA, “The F Word” Facebook , Twitter, Google+… everywhere.




3.Share the One infographic's: One organisation made a beautifully designed infographic, “Fight the Famine” that illustrates the countries that are leading relief efforts in the Horn of Africa and those that are lagging behind.



4.Share the hunger map: One have published a map of the famine in Somalia. This map can also help understand the causes of this hunger.

Depuis le mi-décembre 2010, la Tunisie est au cœur de l’actualité. Tout le monde en parle. Tout le monde veut avoir l’exclusivité sur ce qui se passait là-bas. On a vu des chaînes de télévisions respectées diffuser des intox et des rumeurs qu’elles ont trouvées sur Facebook. On a vu aussi des journaux, électriques en particulier, respectés interviewer des personnes qui n’ont pas le mérite de parler de cette révolution. Mais disant que c’était du au fait que la couverture médiatique des événements en Tunisie était difficile voire impossible à cause des pratiques de l’ancien régime.

Maintenant la tendance du moment c’est de surfer sur la vague de la révolution. Au niveau national ça commence peu à peux mais c’est en France que ça prend de l’ampleur.

Dans la nouvelle publicité de France 24 publiées dans les journaux français, elle annonce « Révoltes en Tunisie et en Egypte: le peuple a parlé, nos chiffres aussi ».
« En Janvier, France24 a enregistré sur internet une fréquentation record près de 10,4 millions de visites. Elle s’ajoute aux 26,4 de téléspectateurs hebdomadaires » se glorifie la chaîne française.
A l’heure où les libyens se noient dans un bain de sang de leurs compatriotes, France 24 n’hésite pas à vanter son audience sans gêne avec message publicitaire sans le moindre scrupule.


De son côté, l’opérateur Free utilise les événements politiques au Nord Affrique pour promouvoir sa « Freebox Révolution » lancée en Décembre 2010.

L’opérateur Free s’accorde les mérites des révolutions en Tunisie en Egypte dans un spot radio très déplacé « Je ne veux pas alimenter la théorie du complot, mais depuis la sortie de la Freebox Revolution, deux dictateurs sont tombés ! ».
Réalisé par la société de Xavier Niel, le spot radio diffusé pour l'offre "Free Révolution" est à la fois choquant et répugnant.
Si c’est de l’humour, c’est raté et en plus ce n’est pas les familles de martyres qui vont apprécier ce spot radio infâme.

Today we celebrate the ninth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. On the 11 of September 2001, more than 2 700 were people killed. Those people will never be forget.
Some people believe that those terrorist attacks were an inside job and Al-Queada has nothing to do with it. I guess the world will never know the truth about what really happened that day.



However, the 9/11 is not just the day of the terrorist attacks, it’s when everything started, it was the beginning. In 2003, the so-called “war against terrorism” began and President Bush sent is troops to invade Iraq. Millions of iraqian and american died due to this war. Many iraqian were murdered, jailed, tortured, women were raped, kids ware abused… Unimaginable and horrible things happened there. We have the picture and videos from Abou Ghrib prison as an example.

Iraqians are not the only ones who suffered, Americans too. US soldiers were murdered or injured. Mothers will never see their son, wives become widow, or children will grow up without their fathers. For the ones who survived, they will spend the rest of their life with a dark side and deal with those terrifying memories.

But after all, those lives and persons are worthless when it come to petrol.
Also after the 9/11, islamophobia became a trend. For some people, all muslims and particularly arabics are terrorists. The recent islamophobic act was the intention of Pastor Terry Jones to burn the Quran on the ninth anniversary of the 9/11. This intention caused controversy around the world. Even Barack Obama was against this act.
Thank God the quran burning was cancelled but how this pastor, who is supposed to give good exemple to people to people, will react if someone burned the holly bible.

The 9/11 has to major results, the word murder became a friendly word and islamophobia is the trend.

I like what Obama said in his weekly radio address "If there is a lesson to be drawn on this anniversary, it is this: we are one nation - one people - bound not only by grief, but by a set of common ideals».

I hope that one day all of this racism, hate and terror end and will all live in a peace full world. But I guess I’m dreaming, so wake me up when September ends.

More heavy rain is falling in flood-ravaged Pakistan and even heavier downpours are forecast.

Recurring sudden floods decreed for a place wherein the rich and fertile territory is turned to a barren and hostile land where nothing else grows apart from tamarisk and mild and bitter fruit and lote trees:
`Yet they (the Saba) turned away (from the truth). So We sent them a devastating flood, And We gave them, in exchange for their excellent gardens, two gardens bearing bitter fruit and tamarisk and a few lote trees.' [34:17]

In November 2009, the UN General Assembly declared July 18th, Nelson Mandela International Day in recognition of the former South African president’s contribution to the culture of peace and freedom.
The Mandela day is “Mandela Day is a call to action for people everywhere to take responsibility for making the world a better place, one small step at a time, just as Nelson Mandela did.”

Mandela, South Africa's first black president, turns 92 years old on Sunday, as the world celebrates the first international day in his honour.
“Nelson Mandela spent more than 67 years serving his community, his country, and the world at large. On Mandela Day people are called to devote just 67 minutes of their time to changing the world for the better, in a small gesture of solidarity with humanity, and in a small step towards a continuous, global movement for good".

People across the globe honored this African icon yesterday by donating their time and energy to help the world’s poor.



One of the top 100 figures of the XXth century, Nelson Mandela received the Nobel Price of Peace in 1993. This struggle against the apartheid caused him 27 years of imprisonment.
Elected first black president of South Africa in 1994, the peace symbol has a policy based on national reconciliation between whites and blacks and fight against economic inequality. He retired from active politics after a single term, but continues to support the African National Congress.



He became an icon of the struggle against poverty through several associations, but also the fight against AIDS. People also listen to him when it comes to human rights

Everyone should look to Nelson Mandela as a role model and get inspired by this life.We all should join his fights against poverty, racism, aids…

On April 22nd, 2010, The explosion and the sinking of the platform Deepwater Horizon; British Petroleum is declared responsable for the biggest environmental catastrophe ever known in the history of the nited States and the second in world history.
For about three months, between 3 and 5 million barrels (365 to 715 million liters of oil) have split in the Gulf of Mexico.

On the July 16th, the oil group stopped for the time the flow of oil after closing all valves of the new funnel placed on the damaged wells.

But stopping the flow is not enough, the damage from the spill remains important. The representative of Greenpeace in Louisiana, Mark Hughes, said that "the situation there is still very, very bad: there were 300 pelicans, oiled turtles, dolphins, dead whales and most importantly, the plankton. In the Gulf of Mexico is the base of the food chain, they are dying from lack of oxygen, so all species in the Gulf will soon be starving. It will take years to understand the damage. Some species will certainly die. "

There were many protests against this ecological disaster.Many celebrities have committed against the black tide: the American rock band Pearl Jam made a clip called "Amongst the Wave” aiming to raise public awareness about protecting the ocean; Korn and Lady Gaga announced that their tour bus will not supply from BP gas stations. Besides the protests outside the headquarters of BP and in the streets, a virtual boycott campaign(online) was launched as an online petition, pages and groups on Facebook gathering thousands of members, unlimited Tweets ...

The oil company British Petroleum has suffered huge financial losses, but her most important loss is her brand image and reputation. Fixing BP's image on the short term becomes almost an impossible mission.

Pendant environ 3 mois, entre 3 et 5 millions de barils se seraient déjà déversés dans le Golfe du Mexique, soit 365 à 715 millions de litres de pétrole.



C’est seulement le 16 juillet que le groupe pétrolier est parvenu à arrêter pour la première fois l’écoulement de pétrole après avoir fermé toutes les valves du nouvel entonnoir placé sur le puits endommagé.

Mais cela reste insuffisant, les dégâts de la marée noire restent importants. Le représentant de Greenpeace en Louisiane, Mark Hugues, affirme que « la situation sur place est encore très très mauvaise : il y a eu 300 pélicans mazoutés, des tortues, des dauphins, des baleines mortes et le plus important, les planctons. Dans le golfe du Mexique c’est la base de la chaine alimentaire, ils sont en train de mourir par manque d’oxygène, donc toutes les espèces dans le golfe seront bientôt affamées. Ça prendra des années avant de comprendre les dégâts. Des espèces vont certainement s’éteindre. »



Il ya eu beaucoup de manifestations et de protestations contre cette catastrophe écologie ont été faites.
Plusieurs célébrités se sont engagées contre la marée noire : le groupe de rock américain Pearl Jam présente un clip intitulé « Amongst The Wave » pour sensibiliser l’opinion à la protection de l’océan ; le groupe Korn et la chanteuse Lady Gaga ont annoncé que leur bus de tournée ne s’approvisionneront pas aux stations essence BP. Même le patron du fabricant allemand de lubrifiants Liqui Moly a annoncé qu’il ne va plus se fournir auprès de BP.
Dernièrement, une vingtaine de militants de Greenpeace recouverts d'une substance rappelant celle du pétrole lourd ont manifesté devant le siège de la Commission européenne pour réclamer, à l'aune de la marée noire actuelle dans le golfe du Mexique, l'interdiction en Europe des forages profonds en mer.
Outre que les protestations devant les sièges de BP et dans les rues, une campagne de boycott virtuelle, via le web, a été lancée : pétition en ligne, pages et groupes sur Facebook rassemblant des milliers de membres, un nombre illimité de Tweets…

La compagnie pétrolière British Petroleum a subi d’énormes pertes en terme financier mais surtout en terme d’image de marque et de réputation. Soigner son image pour BP sur le court terme devient presque une mission impossible.

La star de la Coupe du Monde de football de 2010 a été sans aucun doute Paul le poulpe.
Selon sa présentation récemment mise à jour sur Wikipédia, Paul est un poulpe né en 2008 à l'aquarium Sea Life de Weymouth en Angleterre .Il est utilisé comme oracle pour prédire les résultats des match de football habituellement les matchs internationaux dans lesquels l'Allemagne joue. Paul a attiré l'attention du monde entier avec ses prévisions exactes lors la Coupe du Monde 2010.



Paul a pris sa retraite après le mondial mais sa carrière médiatique vient de décoller en force.
De Peta à Pepsi en passant par les applications d’iPhone, Paul, le pieuvre pas comme les autres, est le chouchou de tout le monde.
L’association Peta (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animal) veut retirer la pieuvre de l'aquarium Sea Life à Oberhausen (ouest de l'Allemagne), pour la relâcher dans les eaux d'un parc national dans le sud de la France, où la pêche est interdite. Alors que Pepsi, la célèbre marque de boisson gazeuse, utilise l’image de l’oracle du mondial pour monter qu’elle est le bon choix par rapport à ces concurrents.



Du côté de l’iPhone, nous trouvons l’application appelée "Demandez au pouple", qui vient de sortir.



Comme tout nouveau phénomène mondial, Paul le poulpe a ses propres pages fans sur Facebook qui comptent des milliers de membres. De plus, son nom (en français ou bien en anglais) fait l’objet de milliers de hashtags sur Twitter.

This 24 years old artist, is known for her eccentricity and provocation often expressed in her music videos, shows and public appearances. Lady Gaga was the premiere artist to reach a billion views on YouTube with three of his clips.



Besides her music, the Bad Romance performer is a committed artist: she gave the total revenue of a concert to help Haïti. The profits of sales of products on the online store on the official web site of Lady Gaga the day of the concert were also given to help Haïti. She’s also helping young women to become aware of the risks of HIV and AIDS.



Lately, Lady Gaga has become the first alive person to have more than ten million fans on Facebook. This number of fans let the singer become more popular than the American president Barack Obamaon Facebook.
Lady Gaga succeeded in just two years to get noticed and to be counted among the great artists of the world. She’s often compared to Madonna, but given the popularity and influence of Lady Gaga, I think we'll soon say goodbye to Madonna.

Elle s’est également engagée à sensibiliser les jeunes femmes aux risques du VIH et du sida.



Dernièrement, Lady Gaga est devenue la première personne en vie à compter plus de dix millions de fans sur le réseau social Facebook. Ce nombre de fans a rendu la chanteuse soit plus populaire que le président américain Barack Obama sur Facebook.
Décidément, Lady Gaga a réussi en deux ans seulement à se faire remarquer et à se faire compter parmi les grands artistes du monde. On la compare souvent à Madonna, mais vu la popularité et l'influence de Lady Gaga, je pense qu'on va bientôt dire adieu à Madonna .
